Who we are
Sqware Logics was founded by Anthony Rensfield and Christopher Edwards. We are principal engineers with decades of experience building software products, tools, and systems. Before starting Sqware Logics in 2024, we both worked at Illumina and Verogen, building software for genomics and forensic DNA analysis.

Anthony Rensfield
Principal Engineer
Anthony has been building software since 1998 and leading teams for more than a decade. Before Sqware Logics, he was Director of Bioinformatics and Software at Verogen, now a QIAGEN company, and before that managed applied genomics software at Illumina. Earlier, he spent nine years as a principal engineer at Mitchell International. He designed and built our requirements-planning workspace.

Christopher Edwards
Principal Engineer
Christopher has been building software since 2005. He spent more than 15 years in genomics, first at Illumina, where he grew from software engineer to software development manager, and then at Verogen and QIAGEN, where he led system architecture as Associate Director. He holds a B.S. in biology from San Diego State University and created Webstir, the open-source framework behind this site.
Our partnership
We have worked side by side for more than a decade, at Illumina, at Verogen, and now here. Our skills differ and complement each other: between us we cover the science, the software, and the systems that run it. Each of us trusts the other's judgment, so decisions are made quickly and rarely revisited.
We enjoy hard problems of every kind, and we care about the people who end up using what we build. We build robust, maintainable software that people like to use.
Our experience
Our work has taken us through automotive, finance, biotech, forensic genomics, and eDiscovery, each with its own rules and constraints.
That variety helps: we have seen how different industries handle similar problems, so we learn a new business quickly and bring ideas from one field into another.
Work directly with us
We do the design and engineering ourselves. We learn your business, make the technical decisions, and build the system ourselves.
Our responsibilities include architecture, infrastructure, implementation, and ongoing support. We take the time to understand the work and the requirements behind it.
