Our work

The software we have built, the problem each project addresses, and how we built it.

Forensic genomics

ForenSeq Universal Analysis Software

Before founding Sqware Logics, we built the analysis software for the first next-generation sequencing system approved to generate DNA profiles for upload to the FBI’s National DNA Index System (NDIS). We began development at Illumina and rebuilt the software at Verogen.

2017
Illumina’s forensic genomics business transitions to the newly formed Verogen. We move with the business and lead software development.
2019
The MiSeq FGx system becomes the first next-generation sequencing system approved by the FBI to generate DNA profiles for upload to NDIS.
2023
QIAGEN acquires Verogen for $150 million.

Our own tools

Client portal

Proposals sent as email attachments drift. Here each client sees one current version and discusses it section by section.

SL Operations

Contracts, work logs, meetings, and invoices in one workspace, each connected to its client instead of spread across files and tools.

Requirements planning

Free-text requirements leave room for argument. Here every requirement follows one structure, with its acceptance criteria attached.

Webstir

Our open-source framework for building server-first TypeScript web apps. This site is built with it.
